DOLMANT (2011-14) was a cross border project to develop lake management tools to assist in creating programmes of measures to meet EU legislation. It was funded through the European Union’s European Regional Development Programme, INTERREG IVa. AFBI was the lead partner with five project partners involved. Project funding was £1.2 million.

AFBI operates a commercial forage analysis service based at its Hillsborough site.

AG-IMPACT is a 12 month project funded under the Republic of Ireland EPA Strive funding programme. The aim of this project is to develop an evidence-base for further research on mitigating the impact of agriculture on water quality in Ireland in the context of achieving the targets of inter alia EU WFD and Food Harvest 2020 report. The project is led by the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute in Northern Ireland, in collaboration with Bangor University, Wales; Impact Research Management and Greenfield Dairy Solutions.

The AFBI Biodiversity Unit specialises in the delivery of field-based environmental, ecological and wildlife research and monitoring for a wide range of clients including government, commercial and NGO’s.
