Calling Northern Irish anglers! Sea angling 2017 survey

AFBI are working alongside England, Scotland and Wales to undertake a UK-wide survey of sea angling. We are asking you to take part in a short survey about sea angling and would also invite you to take part in a sea angling diary study. We particularly need anglers from Northern Ireland to take the survey to ensure we have proper representation of Northern Irish anglers in this UK-wide study.

To do the survey, please go to  The survey will only take 5-10 minutes and will ask you some basic details about your sea angling/fishing participation - however often you go or don’t go, we need to know! Also whether you are interested in taking part in a Sea Angling Catch and Spending Diary Study in 2017.

The survey is supported by Angling NI and is undertaken on behalf of the NI administration, among others.

If you choose to take part in the 2017 Catch Diary Study, it will provide you, free of charge, with unique access to an Online Catch Diary tool, a Fish ID booklet (provided in conjunction with, a catch recording kit, and a personalised online dashboard so you can see your fishing trips and catches as well as a report at the end of the year.
