You are invited to attend a lunchtime seminar on "Potential Research Applications for Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs) given by Mr Alex Higgins, Agri-Environment Branch of AFBI.
The seminar will take place on Thursday 25th February 2015 at 1.30pm in G5, AFBI Headquarters, Newforge Lane, Belfast, BT9 5PX.
The recent availability of technologically sophisticated, (though relatively inexpensive) Unmanned Aerial Vehicles (UAVs or drones) has opened up significant areas of research application. These devices can supply very high resolution imagery in true colour, infra-red and multi-spectral formats; this combined with their ability to operate in sub-optimum conditions, makes application in precision agriculture and crop monitoring viable.
