Statutory testing for veterinary drug residues and marine biotoxins.

Veterinary drug residues and marine biotoxins testing

This is required by national and European legislation and includes the National Residue Monitoring Plan (NRMP) and Official Control Services for Shellfish.

The work is undertaken by the Chemical and Immunodiagnostic Sciences Branch (CISB) who are also the National Reference Laboratory for illegal veterinary drug residues and also Marine Biotoxins.

Centre of excellence

With over 30 years experience in veterinary drug residue testing, CISB performs a wide range of screening and confirmatory analyses.  To guarantee the high quality of our work, all the test methods we use are accredited to ISO/IEC 17025:2017 by the United Kingdom Accreditation Service (UKAS).

Our confirmatory section also holds flexible accreditation under ISO/IEC 17025:2017, allowing us to rapidly validate new methods and thus to react to new and changing demands, including emergency response, with minimal delay.
