Ballintoy, a late heading tetraploid perennial ryegrass is the newest variety to be released by AFBI and will be marketed by commercial partner Barenbrug

Ballintoy produces high yields of quality grass for grazing and silage, with particularly good spring growth. The first seed will be marketed throughout the UK in 2019 and this variety will further the portfolio of over 30 varieties which have been bred by AFBI for use on local farms.
