Over 400 guests, including Chinese Consul General Madame Wang, took part in AFBI's food sensory evaluation
Grass Bred, Grass Fed was the theme for the AFBI stand this year, covering a wide range of topics including seed, growing, silage, ruminants, meat and food. Scientists from AFBI’s Food Research Branch undertook a cheese sensory evaluation with over 400 members of the public to demonstrate how flavour profile changes over time.
AFBI also celebrated 10 Years of scientific excellence with a Wildflower Seed giveaway to promote diversity and raise awareness of the plight of the pollinators. Up to 2,000 AFBI branded packets were distributed over the three day event, with an invitation to visitors to upload photos of their wildflowers to social media later in the year.
In addition AFBI welcomed a wide variety of guests and visitors to the stand over the three days of the 2016 Balmoral Show.
