The AFBI pig and poultry research programme has five main themes:

  • Determining the nutritive value of rapeseed meal for pigs (2013 - 2016)
  • Maximising the performance of piglet from large litters (2013 – 2016)
  • Matching nutrient requirements to the genetic potential of pigs (2015 – 2018)
  • Determining the current nutrient loading in poultry manure (2015 -2017)
  • Optimising sow and growing pig performance using wet feed systems (2013 – 2016)
