AFBI's specialist facilities include
AFBI's specialist facilities include
- Indirect open-circuit respiration calorimeter chambers: two for cattle and six for sheep and pig built in 1992 and 2011, respectively,
- 40 dairy cow digestibility units and a range of large and medium size crates for cattle and sheep digestibility measurements
- Two world class datasets collated from our studies undertaken during last 30 years
- Energy metabolism data including methane and CO2 emissions (1300 dairy cows, 400 beef cattle and 150 sheep)
- Nitrogen utilisation data including all cattle and sheep data in chamber studies and also other non-chamber digestibility studies
