  • Although grass growth remains above the seasonal average, ground conditions continue to be a major issue with many herds now housed at night.
  • Extended grazing techniques, including restricted grazing to 2-3 hours per day, should be used as required to ensure that cows achieve reasonable grass intakes and minimise poaching.
  • The swards to be grazed first in spring 2011 should have been grazed in the last week and now be closed off for winter.
