The FoodBRAND project consortium brought together four EU National Reference Laboratories with GLP/EN45000 accreditation, one European research laboratory, one SME as a commercial partner and consumer representation in the form of an independent consumer consultant and an independent consumer’s organisation with links to groups across Europe. At the time of the launch of FoodBRAND, Hungary and the Czech Republic were European Union Candidate Countries which later joined the EU on 1st May 2004.
