Project Objectives
The FoodBrand work programme was divided into 5 major Objectives.
To develop and validate immunoassay screening kit(s) for the detection of bound residues of the nitrofurans
To develop and validate a High Performance Liquid Chromatography (HPLC) screening method for the detection of bound residues of the nitrofurans
To develop and validate a Liquid Chromatography-Mass Spectrometry-Mass Spectrometry (LC-MS/MS) Reference Method for the confirmation of bound residues of the nitrofurans, following positive screening test results
To survey the prevalence of nitrofuran residues in pig meat samples collected in the EU and selected Eastern Europe Associated States
To ensure adequate Technology Transfer to the EU National Reference Laboratory system
