Aquaculture Disinfectant Listing Scheme

Agri-food & Biosciences Institute, Belfast have collaborated with CEFAS Weymouth and MSS Marine Laboratory Aberdeen in the development of an Aquaculture Disinfectant Listing scheme to list disinfectant products tested to standards effective against bacterial and/or viral diseases in aquaculture. DEFRA is to administer the scheme.

AFBI can provide a disinfectant testing service for both bacteria and viruses. Testing is carried out according to the modified EN standard 1656:2000 for bacterial applications and to the modified EN standard 14675:2006 for virological applications.
