The multidisciplinary programme aims to expand and disseminate knowledge of the processes of economic
and social adjustment and change in rural areas, thus promoting competitive agri-business, inclusive
rural development, efficient utilisation and conservation of the environment and providing a basis for
effective policy interventions.
