Visit of Jim Nicholson MEP to AFBI
Jim Nicholson MEP visited AFBI Headquarters recently where he was given an overview of the work of AFBI by acting Chief Executive Dr Seamus Kennedy.

He continued the fact-finding visit to see the work of scientists informing marine and freshwater fisheries management at Fisheries and Aquatic Ecosystems Branch.
Dr Matthew Service gave a presentation on Coastal Zone Science, examining the benefits of seabed mapping technology and its use to support planning, aquaculture and fisheries management.
Dr Robert Rosell described the work of the freshwater fisheries research group, focusing on the science behind development and implementation of eel management plans for Northern Ireland.
