AFBI to host international renewable energy conference
The Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute’s (AFBI) inaugural conference and exhibition will showcase both technological developments in the renewable energy sector and the business opportunities that exist within Northern Ireland for developing renewable energy infrastructure and applications on a local community scale.
The International Renewable Energy Conference and Exhibition (IREC08) will be held in the Slieve Donard Hotel, Newcastle, County Down on 29th – 30th October 2008.
IREC08 - Global Challenges, Community Solutions will bring together high profile speakers from Europe, Ireland, United States and Britain and delegates from the renewable energy industry as well as decision makers and stakeholders from the public sector.
The conference aims to outline the specific business opportunities that exist in Northern Ireland within the renewable sector and identify and share best practice models for successfully delivering renewable infrastructure locally, nationally and internationally. The conference will also highlight how private equity, government and industry can successfully work together and act as a catalyst for the further development of renewable energy infrastructure locally. IREC08 will aim to gather stakeholder opinion to contribute to an agreed and measurable programme of action for the future of Renewable Energy.
You will have the opportunity to interact with scientific experts or debate the contentious issues surrounding renewable energy and form a consensus using interactive audience participation technology, hear guidance from Government and regulators on current and future policies relating to Renewable Energy and network with leaders in the specific areas and gain access to opinion formers.
