Teagasc Forestry Development Officers on a fact finding mission to AFBI Loughgall
The entire Teagasc Forestry Development Officer Team visited AFBI Loughgall on 15 May 2008 for their annual staff awareness and fact finding outing.

The Teagasc staff concentrated on the topical messages emanating from the Biomass and Bioremediation programme with Short Rotation Coppice Willow with Dr. Alistair McCracken, AFBI Newforge and Agroforestry and Tree Development Programmes with Dr Jim McAdam, AFBI Loughgall.
The fact finding team spent a full day at AFBI Loughgall. Teagasc organiser Kevin O’Connell from Teagasc, Ballyhaise spoke very highly about the programmes they had seen, the excellent management of the trials, the good growth of crops and trees, the valuable resource at AFBI Loughgall and the highly relevant messages coming out of the AFBI Loughgall to support local industry.










High value Ash with the potential to be made into hurley sticks were demonstrated by Dr Jim McAdam, AFBI Loughgall to the Teagasc Forestry Development Officers during their staff development day to AFBI Loughgall.
