The 60th annual George Scott Robertson Memorial Lecture is entitled “Food Security and Sustainability: Tough decisions in a changing world” and will be delivered by HM Government’s Chief Scientific Adviser, Sir John Beddington. It will take place on Monday the 6th December 2010 at 2.00 pm in the Headquarters of the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute (AFBI) at Newforge Lane in Belfast.
AFBI will be holding an open day on the Thursday 30th September 2010, at the Environment and Renewable Energy Centre at AFBI Hillsborough. This event will present the potential of biomass crops to the agriculture industry in Northern Ireland.
The AFBI stand at this years’ Armagh Show will be attended by staff from AFBI Loughgall.
At the Balmoral Show this year, the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute will be showcasing the work that it does to support and protect the Northern Ireland agri-food sector.
The 2010 Bramley Apple Blossom fair will again take place at AFBI Loughgall (Manor House Country Park, Loughgall, Co Armagh) on Friday 7 and Saturday 8 May.
