The
Agri-Food
and Biosciences Institute & the School of Sociology, Social Policy and Social Work, Queens University
of Belfast (QUB) will hold a joint seminar titled “Future Challenges for the CAP".
The proposed joint Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute
(AFBI), Hillsborough and the College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE) beef suckler
cow research herd, which will include Limousin X Holstein-Friesian and Stablizer breeds, will be among
the topics highlighted at a Beef Open Day to be held at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute Hillsborough
on Saturday 23rd September 2006 running, from 10.00 am to 4.00 pm.
The Agri-Food and Biosciences
Institute (AFBI)
is to host an international conference on an exciting new food technology: high-pressure processing
on 15 September 2006 at their Newforge headquarters.
A
Public Lecture with Professor Tim O’Riordan, Sustainable Development Commission,
will
take place on 13th September 2006 at 5.30 pm.
A
one day workshop giving an insight into one of the fastest growing food technologies is to take place
at the Agri-Food and Biosciences Institute on 15th September 2006.
AFBI,
Hillsborough and CAFRE are holding a Beef Open Day on Saturday 23rd September 2006 at Hillsborough.
Hillsborough
will be the centre for a major demonstration of different spreading techniques for slurry. The event
is being held at AFBI, Hillsborough on Thursday 29 June, 2.00 to 9.00 p.m. Trailing-shoe, band spread
and shallow injector applications of slurry will be seen working at this AFBI, Department of Agriculture
and Rural Development (DARD), and College of Agriculture, Food and Rural Enterprise (CAFRE), organised
event.
