AFBI Headquarters are located at Newforge Lane, Belfast.
AFBI Newforge also accommodates a number of scientific specialisms. Research scientists based here also play a very significant role in the provision of expert advice to the Department of Agriculture and Rural Development (DARD), other government departments and the agriculture and food Industries. They also manage and implement wide-ranging statutory functions.
AFBI divisions based at Newforge conduct basic, strategic and applied research, and provide specialist analytical services and advice, in the following areas:
- Applied Plant Science in Plant & Environmental Protection, Plant Molecular Biology, Ecology & Land Use
- Agriculture, Food & Environmental Science in Food Microbiology, Food Chemistry, Marine & Freshwater Fisheries, Aquatic Environments and the Agri-Environment interface
- Agricultural & Food Economics in Economics & Management of Agribusiness, Environment & Rural Development
- Biometrics in Statistical Consultancy and IT Support & Development.

- Join Sydenham Bypass (A2) towards
City Centre
- Stay on dual Carriageway over the M3 bridge.
