Head of Veterinary Sciences Division (Acting)
Dr David Bryson is from a small farm background in Portadown Co Armagh. He obtained his veterinary degree with commendation from Glasgow University in 1973 and joined the Department’s Veterinary Sciences Division (VSD) later that year. He gained a PhD degree from Queens University in 1980 and was appointed head of the Pathology Department at VSD in 1990 and Deputy Director of the Division in 2002. He is currently on temporary promotion to DCEO in AFBI, leading VSD.
Dr Bryson's major research interest has been in infectious respiratory diseases of cattle. He was elected President of the Association of Veterinary Teachers and Research Workers (British Isles) for year 2002 and President of the North of Ireland Veterinary Association for year 2006.
